What type of book are you trying to make and who is your audience? How do you connect to them? This workshop will help you overcome creative hurdles and set you on the path to working through this process.

We will help participants to start thinking in terms of editing and sequencing their work as well as how to establish rhythm and narrative in a book form.

We will also discuss various creative options and approaches that you might take to your project.

Participants: Ideal for both emerging and more advanced artists. This not a scrapbooking workshop but rather focussed on visual artists who wish to explore the book form as both artworks and marketing tool. Participants are asked to bring 20-30 images of their work with them as 10 × 15cm prints.

Age: 18+

Duration: 2 × 3 hours of tutorage and a break for lunch (Intensive)

Facilitator: Christopher Young is a practicing artist who exhibits on a regular basis. He has self-published a number of books and designed books for other artists. He has worked in the graphic design industry for over 25 years to support his practice. Further to servicing his own clients, he has freelanced for prestigious design agencies in Germany and Australia.
